Dalai Lama: THIS Is China

"They [the Chinese] simply rely on using force in order to simulate peace, a peace brought by force using a rule of terror."
Enjoy the Olympics! (And Wal-Mart!)

Don't forget the fresh air, Robb. Oh yeah, and the freedom. 'Cos Bush Sr said back in 1989 that 'communism was dead', so it must be true.
Good thing we don't have to spread freedom, Bushie style, to a country that holds over a trillion US dollars in cash. On the bright side, that cash is worth less and less every day! Ha, we showed them!

I sincerely hope we see more of this type of uprising in the run up to and during the Beijing Olympics. (Sans the dozens killed, of course.)

Hopefully, NBC and all the rest of the media don't try to gloss over these things so we can all comfortably enjoy the Olympics guilt free.

Maybe massive, international embarrassment will make the Communist party realize they need to make some real changes to their political structure. That would almost certainly hurt their economic development, though.

Either way, China is in for a shake-up. I still think the PRC is our biggest threat in the 21st century but there is a lot of inherent instability. Just wait until all the young men realize there aren't enough women to go around...The most dangerous thing a society can have is a large, dissatisfied youth with no prospects.

Hey commies:

Boo.
