clipped from www.examiner.com Sudan Ready to Declare Cease-Fire ROME (Map, News) - Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir said Friday his government is ready to implement a cease-fire with rebel forces at the start of peace talks over the conflict in Darfur, scheduled for next month in Libya. (Bashir is, but not in the good way...) Hopefully China will have the good sense to push the Bashir government to take this seriously. I wonder what effect this will have on the political future of our (and Osama bin Laden's) old friend Hassan al-Turabi?
