A Benchmark for Iraq

The Administration is loathe to set any benchmarks for progress in Iraq.

I have a pretty simple one:

When any major Bush Administration official can go to Iraq without it being a "surprise visit" and without wearing a bulletproof vest when they get off the plane.

If that ever happens, maybe we've "turned the corner".

As it stands now: 2733 deaths, 20468 wounded.
