I Guess We Know How George Allen Got Through School
For those of you who haven't seen this yet, Senator (it feels like there should be quotation marks around that doesn't it?) George Allen blatantly stole legislation from Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, changed one word, and presented it as his own. I've said it before and I'll say it again: WOW! The legislation was an amendment to the current Defense appropriations bill to provide $19 million for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center program. Apparently, the "Senator" is worried about losing (more) votes from Veterans and Service personnel. Seeing as Jim Webb is a war hero and an actual supporter of the military (including his son who will be sent to Iraq any day now), he should be. But couldn't he have come up with his own bill supporting the troops? Did he think no one would notice? "Is patheti-sad a word?"* Blatant plagarism like this would be unacceptable in any other line of work. It would be grounds for dismissal. My God, this man is our United States Senator and he can't even live up to the standards of a student code of conduct. This is just another example of the panic rife in the Allen camp as they continue their free-fall to defeat on November 7th. Russert just got one more question Allen won't be able to answer on the "Meet the Press" debate a week from Sunday. (*Joke courtesy of "The Drew Carey Show". Note to "Senator" Allen: that's called source attribution, or credit where credit is due. You should try it sometime.)
