YSK: Celebrities Are Trained Monkeys That Should Shut Up and Stay in Their Cages When They Are Not Entertaining Us

This Mel Gibson is really &!$$ing me off. The Huffington Post (which I only read as a news aggregator because it mostly contains self-aggrandizing, inane commentary - exception: Henry Rollins) currently has over 20 posts on Mel Gibson and only 1 on Cuba (an interesting one, too). Also, as I mentioned before, CNN broke into reporting on Castro to talk about Mel Gibson.

As Americans we constantly have pop culture shoved down our throat. How does obsessing about "American Idol", Paris Hilton, or Brangelina (or whatever other bull$#!# they manufacture to distract us from reality and keep us docile) make the country a better place? (Except for "24", we need "24". - I'm not immune, either.)

Then there is the psuedonews. Let's watch Nancy Grace talk about Natalie Hollowell one more time - how many people died in Lebanon Sunday? Oh well, they're not photogenic enough to care about. The other day I saw a promo for her show on "Scott Peterson: The Rest of the Story". News flash, the rest of the story is: Arrogant, rich @$$hole who killed his wife and unborn child will spend the rest of his life on death row. End of story. The justice system functioning properly is not news.

So, to everyone who is torn apart by how horrible (and horribly important) what some guy said while his stupid @$$ was being arrested for DUI just because he is famous, let me say this:

FIND SOMETHING WORTHWHILE TO WASTE YOUR TIME!

Grow the hell up.
